Mission Statement
St. George Family Support Services Inc. is mainly concerned with
encouraging and developing positive relationships within families and
promoting environments which value, nurture and protect children.
This is achieved by acknowledging that all families need support, and that while
some get it through their own informal networks, others need to access
services for support. SGFSS affirms and strengthens a familys social,
cultural, racial and linguistic identities and builds their economic capacity.
Our service believes that “A community where families are supported and
empowered to reach their full potential, through an environment that is
nurturing and which values the richness of diversity, enables a sense of
belonging for all of its members”. Therefore, our service will work with families
to facilitate them to build their knowledge, skills and resilience and
enhance their independence and self-reliance.
